JANESVILLE — The South Central Wisconsin Builders Association has been honored with the Association of the Year Award by the Wisconsin Builders Association.
The organization received the award at the Wisconsin Celebration of Housing Conference in La Crosse on June 26. According to a release from the association, the award recognizes outstanding achievements in collaboration, advocacy and mission-driven stewardship.
The association is a nonprofit trade organization, which “unites people involved in the building industry in order to encourage high standards of professionalism and service, promote attainable quality housing, and improve their communities through active involvement,†according to the release.
The organization was chartered in 1947 and is affiliated with the Wisconsin Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders.
“This accolade positions SCWBA among the leading organizations within the home building sector, underscoring the associationÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ dedication to its fundamental values, vision, and well-established mission,†the release states. “Over 150 members of the association committee their enthusiasm and resources to fostering a dynamic and cooperative home building environment in Rock and Green counties.â€
Annually, recipients of the award are chosen based on metrics evaluated by state delegates, who assess each associationÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ performance in areas like engagement, retention, advocacy and impact.
Heidi Van Kirk, the executive director of the South Central Wisconsin Builders Association, accepted the award for the association.
“This honor highlights SCWBAÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ commitment to providing housing and partnering with local craftsmen, businesses, and agencies,†Van Kirk said. “We invest in South Central Wisconsin because our members are our neighbors and friends. We support each other and work together for the betterment of our community, protecting our local businesses every step of the way.â€
