JANESVILLE—A 30-year-old man from Janesville, was arrested after he fired a gun while intoxicated at a home on Riverside Drive.
Derrick Stevenson was charged in court Monday with three counts first degree recklessly endangering safety while armed, second degree recklessly endangering safety while armed, intoxicated use of a dangerous weapon, four counts of false imprisonment, three counts of intimidating a victim and disorderly conduct
At 04:34 a.m., officers were dispatched to the report of a 911 emergency call in the 900 block of Riverside Drive. They arrived and could hear yelling inside the home.
Officers talked with several persons inside the house and it was reported to officers that Stevenson was intoxicated and had armed himself with two firearms. Stevenson also discharged a firearm inside of the home during the disturbance.
Officers escorted the victims away from the home and Stevenson was detained without issue. No one was injured during the disturbance. During a search of the home two firearms were sized, as well as a spent casing and bullet.
The court ordered a cash bond of $100,000 with conditions and his next court appearance is Nov. 1.
