JANESVILLE — A 2-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries in a three-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 14 southeast of Janesville on Sunday and was transported from scene by UW Health Med Flight.
According to a release, the Rock County SheriffÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ Office and Wisconsin State Patrol responded to a call around 2:15 p.m. Sunday to a report of the three-vehicle crash with multiple injuries on U.S. Highway 14 at S. Van Allen Road in the Town of La Prairie
In initial investigation showed that a GMC Terrain driven by a 25-year-old man from Milton was eastbound on U.S. Highway 14 and began to slow down and signaled to make a left-hand turn, north onto S. Henke Road.
A Cadillac XT5 driven by 56-year-old Janesville man, directly behind the GMC, didn’t stop and rear-ended it.
This impact caused the GMC to spin in the intersection where it collided with a Jeep Gladiator that was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 14.
A 2-year-old child in the first vehicle was transported via UW Med Flight to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. All other vehicle occupants suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were treated and released at local hospitals.
The Rock County SheriffÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ Office Crash Reconstruction Team responded to the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
