JANESVILLE — Aimee Scrima, the new director of the Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport, served her first official day on Monday.
Scrima replaces Greg Cullen who retired last week. She is no stranger to aviation, most recently serving as operations supervisor and as an administrative specialist at the Waukesha County Airport
“Through this experience, I learned about not only growing a team but the can-do customer service attitude, all while balancing the regulatory nature of airport management,†Scrima told the Rock County Board when her hiring was confirmed by the board in a vote on Feb. 22. “I’m very fond of the teams I’ve worked with and I’m looking forward to joining the team here.â€
Rock County Administrator Josh Smith appointment of Scrima was later confirmed by the county board
Smith said based on ScrimaÃÛèÖÊÓƵ experience overseeing operations in Waukesha and her experience there on the administrative side, he was “happy to have Aimee join us.â€
“I think she brings a lot of positive energy, good experience, both at the airport with some marketing-type skills that could serve us well, as well as being a pilot herself,†Smith said. “She brings a good perspective.â€
