JANESVILLE — The ChildrenÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ Museum of Rock CountyÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ groundbreaking on Tuesday will include a variety of speakers and kids’ activities, organizers say.
The groundbreaking is at the site of the future childrenÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ museum at 100 W. Milwaukee St., in downtown Janesville, at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24.
“We are beyond excited for this incredible milestone in bringing the ChildrenÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ Museum of Rock County to life,†Kent Anderson, the childrenÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ museumÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ executive director said in a release. “In just over a year, we will open the doors to a place kids can learn, grow and play together. Please join us on this memorable day as we celebrate the start of construction of this amazing facility.â€
The event marks the official start of construction on the childrenÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ museum that will feature interactive exhibits focusing on agriculture, innovation, early childhood learning, and the Rock River.
Planned keynote speakers include City Council President Aaron Burdick, Wisconsin Department of Administration Secretary Kathy Blumenfeld and top donors including Clint Woodman of WoodmanÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ Markets, Ben and Macy Ryan, and Steve and Marlene Bysted.
Children will have a chance to sit in and take pictures inside of a JP Cullen work truck, Lull telehandler, and Bobcat. Coloring packets, chalk, bubbles and ChildrenÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ Museum of Rock County T-shirts will also be available for children.
Kona Ice will be onsite between 4 and 5:30 p.m. and other refreshments will be available.
