The man was Bruce Woodward, 62, of Durand, Illinois, according to a news release.

At 11:50 p.m. Friday, a red Chevrolet Corvette reportedly crashed at South Nelson Road at or near West Carroll Road, the release states. Woodward, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Although the death remains under investigation, a Sunday forensic examination confirmed Woodward died from crash-related injuries, according to the release.

Correction: The Rock County Medical Examiner������Ƶ Department gave the wrong date for the crash. The crash occurred late Friday night.
