Hedberg Public Library, 316 S. Main St., is open Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. HPL Express, located inside Uptown Janesville at 2500 Milton Ave., is open Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Summer Library Challenge: Color Our World runs through Friday, August 8, all ages are invited to register and record their summer reading and activities for an opportunity to win prizes all summer long and a free book at completion.

Back-to-School Clothing Drive: Donations of new or gently used kids’ through adults’ clothing for the Back-to-School Clothing Drive will be accepted at the service desk at HPL through Aug. 21. The community is invited to “shop†the Drive on Saturday, August 23 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Monday, August 25 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. for new-to-you clothes, just in time for the start of a new school year.

Pajama Storytime: Mondays at 6 p.m., through August 4. Program Room. Bedtime stories, interactive rhymes, songs, and more. No registration necessary.
Babies in the Library: Wednesdays at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m., through August 6. Program Room. Rymes, songs, and simple books. No registration necessary.
Sense-ational Storytime: For kids and families. Fridays through August 8, at 9:45 a.m. Program Room. Join us for a 15-minute playtime, followed by 30 minutes of interactive stories, songs, and activities. This sensory-friendly storytime is specially designed for library friends with sensory processing challenges or other developmental challenges, but all are welcome. A visual schedule, fidgets, and more will be provided. No registration necessary.
Wiggle & Rhyme: Thursdays at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m., through August 7. Program Room. Interactive storytime featuring books, songs, action rhymes, puppets and more.
Rotary Gardens StoryWalk: Hedberg Public LibraryÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ StoryWalk at Rotary Gardens is a walking route that includes an illustrated childrenÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ book, taken apart and displayed page by page. The featured title is “MortimerÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ First Garden,†by Karma Wilson and illustrated by Dan Andreasenn.
Free lunch: Monday-Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. through August 13, the School District of Janesville and the U.S. Department of Agriculture will offer children 18 years and younger free lunch in HPLÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ Library Park. Lunch may not be taken to go. Adults 19+ may purchase lunch for a small fee.

Tuesday, August 5, 2 p.m. Journey back in time with Prof. Curt Courteous as he transports you to the age of the dinosaurs, offering a fascinating glimpse into the lives of these magnificent creatures through realistic puppetry, incredible visuals, and engaging demonstrations.
