JANESVILLE — State legislators who represent the Rock County area have scheduled a series of in-person listening sessions in the coming weeks in Milton and Janesville.

State Sen. Mark Spreitzer, of Beloit, and state Rep. Brienne Brown, of Whitewater, will hold a listening session on Monday, March 3, from 6-7 p.m., at the Milton House Museum in Milton. The museum is located at 18 S. Janesville St., in Milton.
Both Spreitzer and Brown are Democrats. Spreitzer represents the state SenateÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ 15th District. Brown represents District 43 in the state Assembly.
According to a statement from BrownÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ office, this listening session will address the state biennial budget and will also cover “any other state issue,†that attendees wish to bring up.

“The 2025 budget presents new opportunities to invest in our stateÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ priorities. Gov. Evers’ proposed a budget will help our kids stay safe and get a quality education, keep taxes low for middle class families, and make meaningful steps to cut costs for all Wisconsinites. I hope that residents will attend these listening sessions to hear about the budget process and share their thoughts about the governorÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ budget proposal,†Spreitzer said in the statement.
“The governorÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ budget is the first step in determining WisconsinÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ priorities for the next two years. This is the best time for Wisconsinites to get involved and help us decide which budget items are most important for moving Wisconsin forward. We’re here to amplify your voices and work for you. Please join us in the budget process,†Brown said in the statement.
State Rep. Ann Roe, of Janesville, a Democrat who represents the 44th state Assembly District, will join Spreitzer and Brown in hosting two listening sessions in March in Janesville.

A release said the listening sessions in Janesville are primarily to discuss WisconsinÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ 2025-2027 executive state budget with constituents.
The first event is Monday, March 10, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Program Room at the Hedberg Public Library, 316 S Main St., Janesville
The second event is Monday, March 24, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., again in the Program Room at the Hedberg Public Library, 316 S Main St., Janesville
“The governorÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ budget values our childrenÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ futures, clean water, quality and affordable healthcare, good roads, supports our farmers, and helps make our cost of living more affordable. I invite any and all community members to come to our budget listening sessions, your input is truly critical,†Roe said in a release.
